The Hugh Freeze era is officially upon Auburn, and it’s very much “so far, so good” for the beginning of it where attendance is concerned.

The Auburn football program took to the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) to announce that it had sold out for the Kickoff On The Plains. The team will face UMass in the season opener in a contest set for a 2:30 p.m. CT kick in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 2.

Back in July, Auburn announced that it had sold out of season tickets for the 2023 college football season, surpassing its record 62,900 season tickets sold (set ahead of the 2014 season), with a total of 63,500 tickets sold ahead of the 2023 campaign.

“Obviously, we’re humbled that we’ve sold more season tickets than — I don’t want to say something that’s wrong, but more season tickets in the history of the program,” Freeze said during SEC Media Days earlier this offseason.

“I think that just speaks to the passion our fans have, not to mention students when they get in there, too, and I’m really excited about experiencing that from the home sideline.”

How Auburn performs with several changes between both the coaching staff and the roster as it looks to bounce back from last season’s dismal finish at 5-7 will be something to watch.
