Several weeks ago, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn ceded his play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, sparking a major offensive turnaround for the Tigers.

However, on Saturday, Auburn’s offense hit a major snag in Athens, falling 13-7 to Georgia.

Despite the tough loss, Malzahn didn’t mince words when asked by the Ledger-Enquirer if he’d be calling plays in the near future:

“No,” Malzahn said when asked if he would go back to calling plays.

Malzahn’s feelings about Lashlee’s play-calling abilities seemingly haven’t changed from last week:

“He does a great job and players love him,” Malzahn said last week. “They respect him.”

Auburn has a chance to get back on track when it hosts Alabama A&M on Saturday night. The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Central time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
