Auburn DB Jeremiah Dinson typically looks at the previous year’s game film when he reviews an upcoming opponent. But that preparation was tossed aside this year because LSU’s passing attack is so different from 2018. He even called LSU QB Joe Burrow a “totally different quarterback.”

Dinson said he approaches this week like any other, but tells teammates, “the ball’s going to get put in the air this week, no question about it. But you got to tell them to compete. That’s why we came to Auburn, you came to Auburn for these types of games.”

Dinson, who is Auburn’s leading tackler with 46 tackles, said the defensive backs must take advantage of opportunities to make plays.

In terms of winning the SEC West, and reaching other late season or postseason goals, a win here is critical.

“It’s really do or die,” Dinson told reporters. “Just to be honest. We need this one. Where we want to go, the goals that we got for the team, we need this one. It’s really do or die this week. You just lay it all on the line and just play until that clock hits triple zeroes.”

LSU has the No. 2 passing offense in the nation at 385 yards per game, with 29 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Auburn, meanwhile, is No. 68 in the country in pass defense.
