Auburn’s 2021 season came to a disappointing end on Tuesday as it lost 17-13 to Houston in the Birmingham Bowl. It was the Tigers’ 5th straight loss after a 6-2 start to Bryan Harsin’s 1st year on the sidelines.

Defensive lineman Colby Wooden contributed 4 tackles to the Tigers’ cause during the game. The 3rd-year sophomore enjoyed a strong season, ending with 8.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks.

On Wednesday, Wooden revealed his plans for next season and, as you can see below, it’s good news for Tigers fans as he will be returning to the program in 2022:

“I’ll never forget how the best fans in the nation had Jordan-Hare rocking. Nothing better than feeling the electricity in the air of 90,000 and being suited up with my bruddas goin’ to war with them,” he posted on Twitter.

“I guess what I’m trying to say is…Let’s run it backk.”

Auburn will certainly be looking to turn the page on a sub-.500 season, and as it does so, it will have the benefit of having one of its top defenders in the fold for at least one more year.
