Auburn basketball scored another win on the recruiting trail Wednesday afternoon, adding a commitment from 5-star Class of 2024 point guard Tahaad Pettiford.
Pettiford joins talented big man Peyton Marshall in a class that is now ranked No. 5 in the nation. Marshall is a 4-star center prospect out of Marietta, Georgia.
Tahaad Pettiford, one of the top point guards in the 2024 class, tells me he’s committed to Auburn.
“I chose Auburn because I feel like Coach Bruce Pearl is going to prepare me for the next level.”

Pettiford is the crown jewel of this class immediately. The 5-foot-11 point guard out of Jersey City is the No. 26 player in the nation and the No. 3 point guard in the class, behind only North Carolina commit Elliot Cadeau and uncommitted Zoom Diallo.
Fellow point guard Labaron Philon is expected by many to commit to Auburn on Feb. 3. Philon, the No. 7 point guard in the nation, will decided between Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Kansas on Feb. 3.
