JUCO transfer Duke Williams missed his second straight game after suffering a knee injury three weeks ago against Texas A&M.

The junior receiver is ready to play this week, according to Brandon Marcello of AL.com, who cites a source close to Williams.

Head coach Gus Malzahn has not yet given the all-clear regarding Williams, but an answer likely should come early this week.

“We are hoping he will be back this week,” Malzahn told AL.com. “I am not ready to make that call yet, but we are hopeful.”

Williams leads the Tigers in receiving with 38 catches for 609 yards and five scores.

No. 14 Auburn travels to Tuscaloosa to face No. 1 Alabama on Saturday. Kickoff it set for 7:45 p.m. EST.
