Auburn lands commitment from 4-star in-state LB in flip from Georgia
Shadarius Toodle, the No. 250 player in 247Sports Composite rankings for 2026, has flipped his commitment to Auburn from Georgia, according to On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett. The news broke Tuesday morning, less than a week after the Bulldogs and Tigers faced off on the gridiron.
Toodle, a 6-foot-3, 235 lb. linebacker from Mobile, AL, initially committed to Auburn in July 2024. He decommitted from the Tigers for the Bulldogs back in June this year, but recently decided his “love for Auburn” was unmatched.
Toodle is the No. 14 linebacker and No. 13 player from Alabama in 247 Sports’ composite rankings. He’s the 13th hard commit of Auburn’s 2026 recruiting class, which now ranks No. 36 in the country and No. 12 in the SEC in those same composite rankings. The only SEC schools with a lower ranking than the Tigers are Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Kentucky and Arkansas.
While Toodle’s allegiances currently lie with Auburn, it’s possible that changes again in the next couple of months. His recent actions show that, of course, but Hugh Freeze’s potential departure via firing at the end of the year could shake things up. If Toodle’s desire to be a Tiger revolves around Freeze, and Freeze leaves the program, Toodle may follow suit.
