Trussville, Ala. speedster Ja’Varrius Johnson is staying in his home state. The 3-star wideout on 247Sports announced his pledge to Auburn Friday via his Twitter account.

Johnson, who is listed at 5-10, 165 pounds, has a 40-yard dash time of 4.36 seconds. He had 18 offers at the time of his commitment, including one from Mississippi State earlier this month. Johnson was recruited to the Tigers by offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and wide receivers coach Kodi Burns.

Auburn now has nine commitments in its 2019 class, which is ranked No. 20 nationally and No. 9 in the SEC by the 247Sports Composite.

Johnson’s tweet announcing his commitment indicates he was ready to join the class upon officially receiving an offer. His highlights can be seen below.
