On Saturday, Auburn legend Kevin Greene was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.
Among the other players, coaches and NFL dignitaries inducted was QB Brett Favre, who also gave an induction speech on Saturday night.
In the former Auburn linebacker’s speech, he said the irony of his position next to Favre wasn’t lost on him:
“I am side by side with Brett Favre for eternity,” Greene said during his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction speech. “Right where a linebacker needs to be.”
Greene had plenty to say about other star players, too, including a fellow Auburn star:
Kevin Greene: "Bo (Jackson) … He ran my ass over. … But I learned!"

Having to tackle Bo Jackson doesn’t sound fun, but it does sound like a good learning experience. After having to tackle Bo, there probably weren’t too many NFL players who scared Greene.
Greene also talked about his not-so-fun encounters with former Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams OT Jackie Slater, who was an early teammate of Greene’s in the NFL:
Now Kevin Green talking about Jackie Slater. "He had a bible in one hand and a switchblade in the other."

Said Slater would witness to him as he was beating him up in practice with the Rams.

Greene finished his NFL career with 160 sacks and five Pro Bowl appearances. At age 34, he became the oldest player in NFL history to lead the league in sacks by recording 14.5.
