Auburn hosted Georgia in one of college football’s best rivalries on Saturday night.

But it was a special night for another reason: the Tigers officially retired the iconic No. 2 jersey that Cam Newton wore when he led Auburn to its most recent National Championship more than a decade ago.

In addition to bringing home the national title, Newton also won the Heisman Trophy.

He is a legend at Auburn, and he was recognized on Saturday night at the half as his jersey was retired. Here’s a remarkable photo from the ceremony:

During his lone season as starting quarterback, he put together one of the best campaigns in college football history. He threw for 2,854 yards, 30 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Newton also rushed for 1,473 yards and 20 more scores.

Newton went on to have an incredible NFL career, helping the Carolina Panthers make the Super Bowl in 2015.

He is currently a television analyst for ESPN, appearing on shows such as First Take.
