Brown was a 3-star recruit in the 2023 class out of Lipscomb Academy in Nashville. As a true freshman, he played in 1 game before redshirting, going 7-of-9 against Maryland.
In 2024, as the backup to Payton Thorne, he made 4 appearances. In his first career start against New Mexico, he was 17-of-25 for 4 touchdowns. He was also 7-of-13 for 72 yards against Arkansas but threw 3 interceptions.
Now, it looks like Brown will seek an opportunity with another program. He will have 3 seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
As for the Tigers, they went 5-7 in Hugh Freeze’s second season. They opened the season 2-1 before a 4-game losing streak.
With an opportunity to win their way into a bowl game, Auburn fell to Alabama 28-14 to end the regular season. It marked the second time the Tigers have missed out on the postseason in the last 3 seasons.
With Freeze set to embark on his third season on the Plains, the Tigers need to make massive strides, or they’ll be in the market for a new head coach once again.
