Bo Nix did it all in Auburn’s 48-11 win over LSU this past Saturday, and his impressive performance earned him some national recognition.
ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit listed his top performers of the week on Twitter on Tuesday, including Nix among the group of six players. Nix went 18-for-24 for 300 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown in the Tigers’ victory.
It was Nix’s first 300-yard game of the season and his first game with three passing touchdowns since Auburn’s season-opening win against Kentucky.
The Tigers had yet to win consecutive games this season entering their matchup against LSU, but Nix and the offense made sure that they’d get their first winning streak of 2020 with a big day. Auburn had 506 total yards and opened a 48-3 lead early in the fourth quarter.
Here were all of Herbstreit’s top performers of the week:
1. Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
2. Taulia Tagovailoa, QB, Maryland
3. Bo Nix, QB, Auburn
4. Joseph Ossai, LB, Texas
5. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
6. Nick Starkel, QB, San Jose State
Tagovailoa, Fields and Starkel were also quarterbacks in the SEC before they transferred to their current schools. Tagovailoa started his career with his older brother, Tua, at Alabama for one season, while Fields began with one season at Georgia. Starkel attended Texas A&M for three years (2016-18) and Arkansas for one (2019) before transferring again prior to this season.
