While Auburn quarterback Sean White continues to battle to be the team’s starting quarterback, the sophomore already believes the team has a leader.
And that’s the man upstairs.
White jokingly replied to a tweet from Pope Francis on Saturday, which he construed to mean that God has a rooting interest in this year’s Iron Bowl.
On White’s profile, his pinned tweet also implies that Auburn will have some outside help this season.
In 2015, White started six games for the team, finishing the season completing 58 percent of his passes for 1,167 yards, 1 TD and 4 INTs.
He’s currently in a battle with senior Jeremy Johnson and junior transfer John Franklin III for the starting job.
