The biggest surprise of Auburn’s season has been the emergence of sophomore RB Kamryn Pettway. However, the Tigers have been without the 6-foot, 240-pound back recently as he battles his way back from a left leg injury suffered in a win against Vanderbilt.

After missing the last two games, Pettway’s father told the Ledger-Enquirer he knows his son is anxious to get back on the field for the Iron Bowl.

“He’s looked forward to this moment since he was a kid,” Orlando Pettway said. “He’s staying upbeat. This is a game he wants to play. He’s hoping to get that opportunity.”

Kamryn knows he missed a major opportunity to become the SEC’s leading rusher this year. After missing the last two games, Arkansas’s Rawleigh Williams III has taken a 103-yard lead over the Auburn star:

“He’s taking it all in stride, but he’s joked about how he should have 1,500 yards right now,” Orlando Pettway said.

Pettway has 1,106 yards to Williams’ 1,209 heading into the final week of the season. However, while Pettway is facing Alabama’s airtight defense, Williams will probably be running all over Mizzou’s porous unit.
