It didn’t take new Auburn coach Alex Golesh long to make a splash in recruiting, as the Tigers announced the signing Wednesday of quarterback Rhys Brush (Seffner, Fla./Armwood HS) during the Early Signing Period.

A 3-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, will be an early enrollee at Auburn in the 2026 class. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Brush is the 75th-rated quarterback in the 2026 class, and was previously committed to Golesh at USF.

Brush passed for 2,489 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior at Armwood, the latter a single-season school record. The Hawks went undefeated with him at the helm in 2024 and advanced to the Class 6A regional finals. Armwood is 13-0 in 2025 and is set to play host to West Boca Raton on Friday night in the Class 6A state semifinals.

Brush passed for 1,685 yards and 24 touchdowns in his senior season at Armwood, and completed his 4-year prep career with 6,094 yards and 878 touchdown passes. He also totaled 691 rushing yards on 179 carries with 13 TDs as a prep.

Auburn currently ranks No. 60 overall in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, with 13 commitments for the 2026 cycle. Golesh, who coached 5 seasons at USF, was hired Sunday to replace Hugh Freeze.
