Auburn’s all-time great two-way player Bo Jackson offers up advice to Kyler Murray

Following his top 10 selection in the Major League Baseball draft, many assumed Oklahoma’s projected starting quarterback Kyler Murray may call it a career on the gridiron. Despite that being the overwhelming belief outside of Norman, Murray quickly announced he still plans to be a Sooner next season.

You may recall the former five-star high school recruit began his football career with Texas A&M before transferring to Oklahoma. After only one season in College Station, Murray left the Aggies after Kevin Sumlin bungled the QB rotation between Murray and Kyle Allen. Now Murray is poised to replace the No. 1 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, Baker Mayfield, in Lincoln Riley’s offense.

In somewhat of an ironic moment, Auburn legend Bo Jackson was in attendance for the MLB draft. Jackson, a former football and baseball player himself, was asked what advice he would give Murray following his 9th overall selection in the draft.

“The sporting world’s a little different now than it was when I played. They have more talent — way more talent,” Jackson commented. “The talent pool is deep. I can’t tell the young man what to do but, whatever sport he choose, concentrate on it.”
