Sam Pittman’s first coordinator hire in Fayetteville was an outstanding one as former Missouri head coach Barry Odom has been tabbed as the head of the Razorback defense looking ahead to the 2020 season.

Pittman announced the hire of Odom live during an appearance on “The Paul Finebaum Show” last week after the new Razorback assistant coach was a candidate to take over the Memphis head coaching position.

Now we know how what it cost Arkansas to land Odom as Tom Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is reporting the new Razorback defensive coordinator will make $1.2 million annually. Specific terms of Odom’s deal, outside of the $1.2 million figure, are not currently available.

Pittman has yet to name an offensive coordinator in Fayetteville but did say that hire could be made in the coming days.
