Saturday wasn’t always pretty for South Carolina, but pretty doesn’t usually win football games.

Shane Beamer started off his Gamecocks career 2-0 after South Carolina’s last second field goal to beat East Carolina 20-17. It was Beamer’s first road win, too.

Kicker Parker White, the super senior, kicked the game-winning field goal to beat ECU — the perfect ending for Beamer Ball, right?

The Gamecocks went on a 9-play 54-yard scoring drive that took over 4 mintues to win the game. The Gamecocks had been looking for the stable running game, and it showed up when the Gamecocks needed it the most.
