Bear Alexander started his college career at Georgia but transferred to USC after his freshman campaign in 2022. On Monday, he reportedly re-entered the transfer portal after 2 seasons at USC in a move that has been expected since early in the season.

Alexander had a breakout season in 2023 for the Trojans, as he finished with 47 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He played in 3 games this season, with his final game being against Michigan on Sept. 21. He had 3 tackles in that game, but made the decision afterwards to sit the remainder of the season in order to preserve a year of eligibility.
Alexander was a star in the class of 2022. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he was a 4-star recruit out of IMG Academy. He was the No. 9 ranked defensive lineman, as well as the No. 50 overall prospect in the entire class.
This is Alexander’s 2nd spin in the portal, but he still figures to be a hot prospect. Defensive linemen as talented as him with 2 years remaining don’t usually end up in the portal.
While players have been announcing their intentions to enter the transfer portal over the last couple of weeks, Monday is the first day underclassmen are officially entering the portal.
