Former Alabama TE Brandon Greene is getting his first NFL opportunity, and it will be at his old position.

Greene, who switched between offensive tackle and tight end multiple times during his Alabama career, has signed with the Chicago Bears as an offensive lineman. The team announced the news Monday.

Greene played in all 15 games each of the last two seasons. Last season, the 6-foot-5, 295-pound tight end was primarily a blocker in Alabama’s jumbo packages. He caught one pass for five yards against USC in last year’s season opener.
