Beau Pribula injury: Mizzou QB’s status revealed for Week 13 at Oklahoma
Quarterback Beau Pribula is on track to return to the lineup on Saturday when No. 22 Missouri travels to Norman to face No. 8 Oklahoma.
According to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Pribula “looked good” in practice on Friday and is in line to start for the Tigers. Pribula was medically cleared to play recently, and he was upgraded to questionable on the team’s injury report this week.
Pribula has not played since injuring his ankle on Oct. 25 in the loss to Vanderbilt. In his absence, Mizzou has started true freshman Matt Zollers in each of the last 2 games.
Zollers helped the Tigers to a 49-27 win over Mississippi State last weekend. He piloted the ship in the Nov. 8 loss against Texas A&M as well in what was his first career start.
With Pribula back in the lineup, the Tigers, who looked like a threat to make the College Football Playoff earlier this year, could give the Sooners some fits. Pribula has 1,685 passing yards, 220 rushing yards, and 16 total touchdowns this season. He has a Total QBR of 72.1.
The combination of Pribula and tailback Ahmad Hardy in the Mizzou backfield presents problems for opposing defenses. Pribula is comfortable making plays happen with his legs. Hardy is one of the best running backs in all of college football — if not the best.
Missouri’s defense is outstanding — 14th in adjusted EPA per play allowed — but in back-to-back losses to Vandy and A&M, the offense couldn’t carry its weight.
If Pribula is able to seamlessly transition back into the fold, Mizzou has a chance to knock off the Sooners. OU is a 6.5-point favorite, per BetMGM.
Saturday’s kickoff is set for noon ET. The game will be carried on ABC.
