Bedlam delivers again: Oklahoma State downs Oklahoma, spoils Sooners’ playoff hopes

Oklahoma State got the last laugh in the end.

The Cowboys won the final Bedlam matchup before Oklahoma’s move to the SEC Saturday evening, 27-24. In doing so, Oklahoma State spoils their rival’s chances of reaching the CFP.

Oklahoma State has now won back-to-back home games against OU for the first time since they were called Oklahoma A&M in 1932.

Ollie Gordon II was the story in this one. The star RB rushed for 137 yards with 2 touchdowns, including the go-ahead score about midway through the 4th quarter.

This means plenty for the Bedlam rivalry, but it also means a ton for the race to the CFP.

The Sooners are now out of the race for the 4-team CFP. Their win over Texas has been nullified by back-to-back losses to Kansas and now OK State.

The Longhorns skirted by disaster of their own earlier today. The Longhorns downed Kansas State 33-30 in OT and now sit at 8-1 on the season. If the Longhorns can win the Big 12 there’s a chance they crack the playoff.

Incredibly, each of the 5 power conferences still have a team alive for the 4-team field.
