This week’s best play call also comes from the biggest matchup of Week 6. No. 11 Ole Miss upset No. 3 Alabama at home in a thrilling 23-17 victory in what was a major statement regarding the landscape of the SEC. The Rebels go-ahead touchdown came on third down in the fourth quarter with 2:52 remaining.

The play can be viewed below at the 2:47 mark:

Quarterback Bo Wallace secured his legacy with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Walton. The play was a shotgun pass that found Walton as he broke the plane and was past defensive back Landon Collins. The play gave Ole Miss its first lead since Alabama moved ahead 7-3 in the second quarter and kept momentum for most of the contest.

The lead was secured as Ole Miss defensive back Senquez Golson intercepted Blake Sims’ pass in the end zone for a touchback. Wallace used the victory formation to wind down the clock in the final seconds and give the Rebels their first win over Alabama since 2003.
