Bet the over: Kentucky’s win total number the most popular over bet heading into 2018

Despite Kentucky going 7-6 each of the last two years, Las Vegas doesn’t expect much from the Wildcats this season. But the public apparently has higher expectations.
According to Bovada, Kentucky received the most action to hit the over on its Over/Under win total of 5.5. UCLA was second-heaviest with an Over/Under of also 5.5. Michigan State rounded out the three most popular over bets with an Over/Under of 9.
These win totals only include the regular season, so in order to prove these betters correct, Kentucky will have to win six regular season games. Of course, the regular season footnote doesn’t matter much in this case because it’s highly unlikely the Wildcats make a bowl at 5-7 anyway.
The last time Kentucky won at least six games in three consecutive seasons was from 2008-09. The Wildcats haven’t captured more than seven victories in one year since 2007.
