It seems like new odds are being released on a daily basis at this point in the offseason and the latest example comes from online sportsbook BetOnline.
The virtual sportsbook has debuted its first 2018 SEC Championship odds of the year and they have Alabama and Georgia, like nearly everyone else, as heavy favorites heading into the season. Despite that typical take, there are a few intriguing notes on this list.
Florida has much better odds than South Carolina, which isn’t that common this offseason. Why Ole Miss is even listed is also interesting considering the Rebels aren’t eligible to win the conference in 2018. BetOnline will freely take anyone’s money that’s dumb enough not to know that it seems. Judging by Mississippi State’s line, the gambling world is finally starting to catch up to the hype surrounding the program in Starkville.
Here’s the full list of debut lines to win the SEC from BetOnline:
Alabama +150
Georgia 3/1
Auburn 7/1
Mississippi State 10/1
Florida 14/1
Texas A&M 16/1
LSU 16/1
South Carolina 20/1
Missouri 20/1
Tennessee 50/1
Ole Miss 50/1
Arkansas 50/1
