We went 4-for-5 on DFS plays last week. One more hot week and we can officially call it a hot streak. Here are 3 DFS player props to consider for Week 5. Michigan State QB Aidan Chiles over 0.5 interceptions
No quarterback in the country has more turnover-worthy plays than Michigan State’s quarterback, who now has to face the best the Big Ten has to offer. Chiles has been picked off 7 times in his first 4 games. Six of those interceptions have come when he’s been under pressure (which happens often). I think Ohio State can find some explosives and create distance between itself and MSU early, which would force the Spartans to the air with a quarterback who has felt the pressure to make the 21-point throw more often than not.
UCF RB RJ Harvey over 1.5 rushing touchdowns
Colorado is getting run on a ton to open the season. North Dakota State ran it 43 times in the opener. Nebraska ran it 35 times in Week 2. Baylor ran it 41 times in Week 4. The Buffs are giving up 4 yards a carry and have allowed 6 rushing touchdowns. Their numbers aren’t awful against the rush, but they haven’t faced an offense that will stress-test them the way this UCF unit will. Army is the only team in the country running it more often than UCF (55 times a game), and only 3 teams are doing it with more efficiency. The Knights’ attack is built around quarterback KJ Jefferson and Harvey, who has found the endzone multiple times in 7 of his last 8 games. I think Colorado is going to give up some chunk runs
Arkansas QB Taylen Green over 67.5 rushing yards
Green has been a consistent part of the rushing attack for Arkansas. He’s cleared this number in 3 of his 4 outings so far and he’s on pace to obliterate his previous career bests on the ground. Offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino is putting him on the move and letting him weaponize his athleticism. While none of the defenses Arkansas has faced thus far stop the run as well as A&M or generate the level of havoc the Aggies can, A&M hasn’t lived up to its potential in terms of rushing the passer and has been too generous in providing explosive play opportunities. Green will have chances to add to the highlight reel in a game that might be up-and-down.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
