Big 12 fans got to see the conference branching outside of the country in Week 0 this season, when the Iowa State Cyclones and Kansas State Wildcats played their season-opener in Dublin this year.
There were many people who loved it, but some K-State fans who were frustrated they lost a home conference game against a talented team. However, it had been reported that the conference would be going to London next season with Kansas and Arizona State playing there. On Wednesday, the Big 12 made it official with an announcement on social media. The game, dubbed the first-ever Union Jack Classic, will be played at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026.
Whether it is college football or the NFL, there has definitely been an effort to continue to expand the sport and have it become even more popular across the world. Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark is one of the most active commissioners when it comes to expansion and adapting to the times, so it isn’t a surprise to see him getting the conference out of the United States for games.
For KU and Arizona State, the only way the two teams meet this season is if they make it to the Big 12 Championship game, as they won’t see each other in the regular season.
