If a player was a member of a team during a season which included a postseason win, one would expect him to receive the ring that comes with the victory. An investigative report by Ryan Wallace of GoPowercat.com found that hasn’t been the case at Kansas State.

Multiple players who transferred after playing for a Kansas State team that won a bowl game tell Wallace they never received their rings for winning the bowl game.

“Growing up, I thought the world of the (K-State) program but I’ve lost some serious respect for it,” Ian Nordell told Wallace. “I know a lot of us feel cheated because we definitely felt that we had a part in the (2017) season.”

Nordell was a redshirt freshman on the 2017 team which capped off the season winning the Cactus Bowl over UCLA. One player from the 2013 team had a similar experience.

“I never got that (ring) bro,” Daniel Sams told GPC.

“I went back up for an internship in Kansas City one year and of course went down to Manhattan,” he added. “The guys told me they were still waiting for them, so I never thought to even ask/beg for something that’s mine. I finally just said (forget) it.”

Sams was a 1,000-yard rusher that 2013 season that ended with KSU winning the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
