Big Ten game canceled, coach tests positive for COVID-19

The Michigan State-Maryland this Saturday has been cancelled due to an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak at Maryland.
ESPN reporter Adam Rittenberg confirmed the official report from Maryland, which revealed that 15 athletes and seven staff members, including coach Mike Locksley, have tested positive.

Rittenberg added that the game will be a no contest.
Maryland’s population positivity rate for COVID-19 has increased to 14.9%. All the individuals who tested positive have been placed in isolation.

Maryland’s contest last week against No. 3 Ohio State was canceled because of a COVID-19 outbreak. Next week Maryland is slated to travel to No. 9 Indiana and Michigan State has visiting No. 19 Northwestern on the docket.
