Big Ten releases statement on ongoing media rights negotiations, attempts to set record straight

Big Ten media rights negotiations are a big story in the college football world right now. It has the potential to change how college football is watched starting in a couple of years.
A report on Tuesday morning indicated that ESPN had balked at a Big Ten offer for ESPN to pay $380 million per year for broadcast rights, especially since the network wouldn’t have gotten the league’s best game of the week.
But, per Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated, the Big Ten has issued a statement attempting to clear the air. As you can see in the tweet below, the league says no deals have been finalized as of yet:

Does this mean ESPN is still in play? There’s a lot that still needs to be sorted out moving forward, it appears.
