New Florida head coach Billy Napier is retaining at least 1 member of Dan Mullen’s staff as he continues to settle into things in Gainesville.

Florida announced on Tuesday that former Syracuse and UConn head coach Paul Pasqualoni, who was a special assistant to Mullen for 2 seasons, has been named the director of advanced scouting and self scout.

Pasqualoni was the head coach at Syracuse from 1991-2004, going 107-59-1 in that time span. After 6 years in the NFL, he returned to the college ranks in 2011 to lead the UConn program, going 10-18 before being fired after a 0-4 start in 2013. He then had stops with the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans before spending 2 years as the defensive line coach at Boston College.

Pasqualoni returned to the NFL in 2018 and was the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions for 2 seasons before resigning. He then joined Mullen’s staff at Florida ahead of the 2020 campaign.
