Auburn quarterback Bo Nix may have sent a message to the coaching staff that he’s not ready to give his starting job up to TJ Finley without a fight.

Nix’s job security was called into question after Finley led a game-winning, last-minute drive against Georgia State, but the junior eventually got the nod over the LSU transfer as Auburn travelled to Death Valley. He would later be replaced by Finley.

But, in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th and 2 inside the LSU 25, Bryan Harsin elected to go for the conversion, and Nix delivered an eye-popping play. He somehow avoided several tacklers and managed to get a pass of to tight end Tyler Fromm in the end zone for an incredible touchdown. Yes, that’s Tyler Fromm, as in Jake Fromm’s younger brother.

That put Auburn on the board as it pulled to within 13-7. The No. 22 team in the country is looking to improve to 4-1 before hosting Georgia.
