Boo Carter, 4-star 2024 ATH from Tennessee, announces SEC commitment

Boo Carter is staying close to home. Carter, a blue-chip recruit from Chattanooga, will play college football on Rocky Top.

Carter announced his commitment to Tennessee on Saturday via social media.

Carter is listed as measuring 5-10, 184 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Carter is rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in Tennessee, No. 17 ATH and No. 207 prospect overall in the Class of 2024.

As the ATH label suggests, Carter is a 2-way standout. Tennessee secondary coach Willie Martinez and defensive coordinator Tim Banks led the UT staff’s recruitment of Carter.

Carter picked up 46 scholarship offers during his recruitment. Michigan and Colorado were considered finalists heading into Carter’s Saturday night announcement. In December, Carter also included Ohio State and Oregon in his top 5 teams.
