Booger McFarland sees a clear key in the Rose Bowl between Alabama and Michigan.

With Michigan known to lean on its running game, the Alabama defense will likely sell out to stop Blake Corum and Co. That leaves QB JJ McCarthy forced to test the talented Alabama secondary.

McFarland doesn’t trust McCarthy to have success on Monday night, and that’s why he’s picking Alabama by 10+ points.

Michigan is in the College Football Playoff for the 3 straight season but has yet to win after it was routed by Georgia in 2021 and upset by TCU last season. The Wolverines haven’t won a national championship since 1997.

Alabama is looking for its 7th title under coach Nick Saban and has won 6 of 7 CFP appearances. Saban won his first championship with the Crimson Tide in the 2010 BCS title game in Pasadena, California.
