Booger McFarland offers interesting adjustment to early signing period

Booger McFarland is no stranger to offering opinions on the state of college football. After all, during the season, he gives weekly updates about each team in the SEC and their current state.
In the middle of the frenzied new early signing period that kicked off on Wednesday, McFarland, the ESPN/ABC and SEC Network analyst, suggested the sport move the date up from December to August so that it’s not “in the middle” of the season.
Make no mistake, it was an adjustment for coaches around the country, and other analysts like Paul Finebaum of the SEC Network also suggested that the date would change.
McFarland’s suggestion of the August date being for “can’t miss prospects” would continue a trend. Led by Georgia’s six 5-star signees, the top five recruiting classes, according to the 247 Sports Composite, secured 14 5-star prospects in this period alone.
Among the problems some mentioned were that it fell after bowl season began, and schools involved in the College Football Playoff were in the middle of practice.
The date certainly has added a strategic element to recruiting that would bring another twist if McFarland gets his wish to the August date, which would eliminate any distractions for players ahead of their high school season.
I propose a change to the early signing period Move it to August make it actually early It would be for the Can’t miss prospects , all the others who need time for whatever reason can sign in Feb As it is now the early signing period is kinda in the middle #boogerrule
