Booger McFarland is already predicting who the favorite will be for the 2024 Heisman Trophy.

The 2023 Heisman Trophy went to LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. McFarland thinks Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, the No. 6 finisher from 2023, will be the favorite to win the award in 2024.

“I think Jalen Milroe will be the favorite to win the Heisman when the season starts next year,” McFarland declared. “That defense is going to be a year older… Overall, I think the Tide’s team next year will be better than the team this year.”

Milroe had a slow start to the 2023 season, even being benched for a short time. However, the QB came on late and finished the regular season with 2,718 yards, 23 TDs, and 6 INTs. The dual-threat QB also rushed for 468 yards and 12 rushing TDs.

Milroe helped lead the Tide to a 12-1 record and an appearance in the College Football Playoff. No. 4 Alabama faces No. 1 Michigan in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day.
