Calipari told Fland that he was in the middle of interview when he got the call from Fland, but the call was so important to him that he stepped away from the interview to talk to him.
Calipari talked about his vision for the team when Fland joins for the 2024-25 season.
“I’m doing what I’m doing with this group, and I’m having visions of you doing this stuff,” Calipari said. “The way you get to spots, the way you’re getting to the rim, the way you’re making threes now, I’m telling you, with your range, I’m gonna make you shoot.”
Fland is the No. 20 player nationally, the No. 2 combo guard and the No. 3 player in the state of New York according to 247Sports composite. Fland will be a great addition for Kentucky, and his future coach is undoubtedly excited to have him.
