The college football season is finally upon us and speculation around the ultimate winner of the 2016 Heisman Trophy continues to grow. As we enter a season with one of the more crowded field of contenders in the game’s recent history, the winner could be any number of players when it’s all said and done.
According to Bovada, LSU’s junior running back Leonard Fournette continues to be the favorite to capture arguably the most recognizable individual award in all of sports. The odds for Fournette edged slightly since late June, as the elite back now has 4/1 odds to win the award.
Georgia’s junior running back Nick Chubb remains status quo at this point, as the Bulldogs’ talented runner remains with 16/1 odds to win. Chubb is currently listed so low due to his status being unknown heading into the season but should he return to full health, UGA’s star would be the best current value on the board.
Ole Miss senior quarterback Chad Kelly, Alabama sophomores Bo Scarbrough and Calvin Ridley, Tennessee senior Joshua Dobbs and Texas A&M senior quarterback Trevor Knight all remain on the board, as well. None of their odds have changed since late June.
