Brady Cook heard plenty of slogans from head coach Eli Drinkwitz throughout his tenure leading Mizzou. During a recent interview for the “Up & Adams” show, Cook was asked to name his favorite.

The entire segment with Kay Adams was interesting. Cook was asked for his favorite gas station snack (that’s a blue Gatorade, Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos and a banana if you’re interested) and special hidden talent.

As for his time under Drinkwitz, the star quarterback had one special slogan related to the QB position primed and ready to deliver:

“You know, he always said: ‘Don’t be a celebrity quarterback.’ So, I think it’s going to be don’t be a celebrity quarterback,” recalled Cook. “Just a little reminder that you’re here to be a battlefield commander, that’s why you’re the quarterback of this team. Don’t forget that.”

Cook and Drinkwitz will forever be connected during their time at Mizzou, presiding over one of the best 3-year stretches in program history. It culminated in a 21-5 record and a pair of bowl wins, including a Cotton Bowl victory, across the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Now, Cook is lining up to hopefully hear his name called during the 2025 NFL Draft. He jumpstarted the pre-draft cycle by showing out at the NFL Combine.
