Brandon Miller erupted for 41 points in Alabama’s overtime win at South Carolina on Wednesday night.

Miller hit the game-winning shot as well as the game-tying basket at the end of regulation to force overtime. He also added 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 steals and sunk 6 3-pointers.

For Alabama, this win ensured the Crimson Tide remain on track to earn their 1st-ever No. 1 seed. A loss to South Carolina would have been damaging to their résumé.

It was an emotional game for Miller, who was dealing with the aftermath of his involvement in a Jan. 15 Tuscaloosa murder becoming public knowledge. According to court testimony, Miller transported the handgun that was allegedly used in the murder to former teammate Darius Miles. Miller’s attorney released a statement on Wednesday clarifying that he never handled the firearm and was unaware of Miles’ intentions.

Alabama will be in action again on Saturday at home against Arkansas.
