Braxton Douthit and Oklahoma were up against elimination in the Charlottesville Regional. Fortunately, Douthit stepped up — along with the Sooners’ bats — to avoid a loss and stay alive for another day.
Facing Army on Saturday, Douthit delivered a remarkable complete game with just 1 run allowed. Oklahoma’s offense more than delivered with a 5-run 5th inning but it was Douthit’s pitching that set the early tone for the game.
When it was all said and done, Douthit wrapped up his complete game with 7 strikeouts. He scattered 4 hits and 4 walks with just a single run allowed.

Offensively, Bryce Madron led the Sooners by going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and a team-high 4 RBI in the win. Easton Carmichael and Kendall Pettis delivered 2 RBI apiece while Carmichael and Wallace Clark each produced a home run in the 10-1 win.
Oklahoma advances to Sunday and a 12 pm ET game against the loser of No. 7 Virginia vs. East Carolina.
