Bray Hubbard, other Alabama players listed as limited/out for spring practice, per Kalen DeBoer
Bray Hubbard will be limited during spring practice, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer revealed to reporters on Tuesday while speaking to the media for the first time since spring football began.
The star safety spurned the NFL Draft and returned to Tuscaloosa for his last year of eligibility. But the backbone of Alabama’s defense who led the Crimson Tide with 4 interceptions last season and finished 3rd on the team with 79 total tackles won’t be going full throttle in 2026 quite yet, according to DeBoer.
Hubbard, who also had 3 forced fumbles, 8 pass breakups and 2 sacks as he filled the stat sheet last fall, won’t be the only Alabama player who either will be limited or out during the duration of spring football.
“Zebbo (Jah-Marien) Latham will be out for the spring,” DeBoer told reporters. “Bray (Hubbard) will be limited, limited contact with just stuff coming from the fall. London Simmons will be out for the spring. Will Sanders will be out for the spring.”
DeBoer clarified to reporters that the latest on these players wasn’t because of anything recent.
“There’s nothing that’s happened in practice over the last couple of days,” DeBoer said.
Latham, a wolf linebacker, missed most of last season after suffering a neck injury in practice in September.
Simmons, a defensive lineman, played in all 15 games for Alabama, making 2 starts despite being a true freshman. He played 266 defensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
Sanders, a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman, also played in every game for the Crimson Tide in 2025. He played offensive snaps in 10 of those 15 games.
Here are Kalshi’s odds for the 2026 College Football Playoff national champion, with Alabama not quite making it onto the list of top contenders:
