Breaking down Malik Nabers’ rookie receiving props

Malik Nabers was selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft last week.

He’ll now headline a New York Giants wide receiver room that’s hoping to take a big step forward this upcoming season. Expectations will be high for Nabers, who is coming off of a sensational 2023 campaign with LSU.

Here’s a breakdown of Malik Nabers’ receiving props for his rookie season:

Malik Nabers receiving yards prop

  • Where to bet the over: Caesars | Total: 850.5 | -115
  • Where to bet the under: DraftKings | Total: 875.5 | -110

Malik Nabers is likely going to be Daniel Jones’ top target from Day 1 in New York. He’ll certainly get every opportunity to earn that role, which should give him a great chance to clear the over on this prop.

Recent history is also on Nabers’ side. Each of the past 4 wide receivers drafted in the top-10 (Drake London, JaMarr Chase, Jaylen Waddle and Devonta Smith) have all cleared the 850-yard threshold in their rookie seasons. Those are 4 elite talents who have all lived up to their draft position, so it will be up to Nabers to do the same.

PICK: Malik Nabers over 850.5 receiving yards

Malik Nabers receiving touchdowns prop

  • Where to bet the over: Caesars | Total: 5.5 | +130
  • Where to bet the under: bet365 | Total: 5.5 | -110

Nabers could very well be the top target in New York from Day 1 and still struggle to score 6 touchdowns on the season. Daniel Jones, who missed most of last season due to injury, hasn’t thrown more than 15 touchdowns in a season since his rookie year.

A lack of receiver talent has certainly played a factor in that, but it’s unclear how big of an impact Nabers will be able to have in Year 1 in the touchdown department. However, with the high volume of targets Nabers is expected to receive next season, 6 touchdowns doesn’t seem like too much to ask for.

Of the 4 wide receivers listed above who were drafted in the top 10 in recent years, just 2 of them (Chase and Waddle) scored at least 6 touchdowns as rookies. Nabers is an electric player who is capable of putting up big numbers as a rookie, but I’d lean toward the under on this prop.

PICK: Malik Nabers under 5.5 receiving touchdowns

Other Malik Nabers props to consider

Malik Nabers to lead all rookies in receiving yards

This prop is priced at +480, courtesy of FanDuel. Nabers is the second-favorite for this honor, behind only Marvin Harrison Jr. at +150. Harrison does have a better quarterback to play for, but the gap in odds here might be a bit overstated.

There were some scouts who believed Nabers was a similar talent to Harrison coming out of the draft. He had a tremendously-productive final season at LSU, going for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023 with the Tigers.

Nabers is also great at producing yards after the catch, making him a valuable weapon in the short-passing game with Jones under center. It’s not too inconceivable that Nabers could challenge for the rookie yardage lead amongst receivers in 2024.

Malik Nabers to win Offensive Rookie of the Year

The best price for Nabers to win Offensive Rookie of the Year comes from ESPN BET at +1400. Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Marvin Harrison Jr. and JJ McCarthy all currently have better odds to take home this honor.

Offensive Rookie of the Year is an award that has been frequently won by receivers in recent years. Wideouts have taken 2 of the last 3, and it would have been 3 straight if not for a historic rookie season from quarterback CJ Stroud a year ago. Stroud beat out Puka Nacua, who set the all-time rookie receiving yardage record last season.

Nabers has elite talent and plenty of opportunity to earn the No. 1 WR role in New York, so it’s certainly possible he will end up as a top contender for this award down the stretch.
