Brent Venables roasted on social media amid Oklahoma’s horrific start vs. South Carolina
Brent Venables is being roasted for his team’s performance against South Carolina in Week 8.
At the beginning of the 2nd quarter, the Sooners find themselves sitting in a 21-0 hole at home to the Gamecocks. The offense has been so poor that Venables has already decided to bench Michael Hawkins Jr. and return to Jackson Arnold. Hawkins had been the starter since Arnold was benched against Tennessee.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, Hawkins’ day will end with the QB throwing 2 interceptions on just 5 pass attempts. Understandably, social media is on fire with fans and media roasting Venables and his team. Let’s check out some of the reactions below.
Oklahoma fans, it’s ok. You’re now realizing that I’m the only one courageous enough to tell you the truth.
Venables is awful. I forgive you all but you have to say “sorry Brandon. I’m just a stupid ass Oklahoma fan and you were right.”

All coaches should be fired. Im tired of defending Venables.

Looking forward to seeing where Brent Venables is a DC next year pic.twitter.com/LVwcTkMV8i

Texas fans, we owe you an apology. Brent Venables is our Charlie Strong.

Love you BV.
It’s been real man.

BV losing that bad to USC at home is gonna get you fired.

The transfer portal makes the prospect of changing coaches very scary
In still in favor of one more year for BV but this is also so very nasty

It really sucks, because I truly believe BV is the guy… every facet of the program is headed in the right direction… except the offense.
Two bad hires might cost him his job.
I hope not, but that’s how inexcusably bad this has become.
OC change needed to be made weeks ago

Bob Stoops is currently speechless on the radio broadcast.
“This is unbelievable.”
The QB change?
“I’m all for it.”

The Sooners’ first SEC season has not gone as well as hoped. The team already has 2 SEC losses, to Tennessee and arch-rival Texas. A 3rd SEC loss already would qualify as a massive disappointment.
With around 10 minutes left to play in the 1st half, the Sooners are in a 24-0 hole. Expect to see many more heated reactions if the Sooners don’t climb out.
