It appears that Bret Bielema and Gus Malzahn not only exchange their opinions on pace of play, but they also exchange text messages.

The Arkansas head coach told the media during his weekly press conference that he extended congratulations to Malzahn via text after Auburn’s victory last Thursday night at Kansas State.

“Some of you may faint, but I shot Gus [Malzahn] a congrats text,” Bielema said. “I just said ‘Hey I know how tough [playing at Kansas State] is, so congrats.'”

Bielema and Malzahn made headlines in the past, thanks to a disagreement in regard to pace of play and how that affects player safety. Reportedly, the two coaches have settled their issues with one another.

Bielema added that because of having coached at Kansas State in the past, he understood just how tough of a win that was for Auburn last week. The second-year coach was the co-defensive coordinator at Kansas State from 2002-03.
