The first AP poll of the 2018 season will be released on Monday, but it’s likely that some voters will reveal their ballots before then.
That includes college football insider Brett McMurphy, who recently joined Stadium Network, as he revealed his preseason top 25 on Twitter on Wednesday.
McMurphy ranked the defending national champions, Alabama, at No. 1 and included Georgia (No. 6), Auburn (No. 11), Mississippi State (No. 17) and Florida (No. 18) in his preseason poll.
Here’s a full look at McMurphy’s rankings:

It’s no surprise that McMurphy included the first four SEC schools on his ballot. However, Florida comes as a mild surprise.
In the preseason Coaches Poll, the Gators just missed out, while LSU was ranked at No. 24. The Tigers were omitted from McMurphy’s ballot.
Of course, it’s hard to rank the top college football teams in the nation before any games are played. Many teams begin their season on Sept. 1, which will give media members something to base rankings off of moving forward.
