Brett Yormark, new Big 12 commissioner, looks for ‘win-win scenario’ about Oklahoma and Texas exit

Texas and Oklahoma could be able to leave the Big 12 early if the right opportunity arises for the two schools and the Big 12 Conference.
Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark did not rule out the possibility of Texas and Oklahoma having an early exit for the SEC. Yormark, who was named the Big 12 commissioner in June, spoke with reporters about the future of the conference.
In 2021, it was revealed that Texas and Oklahoma would be leaving in several years for the SEC. As of now, those two schools remain with the Big 12 and Yormark wants to develop a strong relationship with the two schools before they leave his conference.
Yormark asked by @AnwarRichardson about a potential early exit for Texas and Oklahoma before 2025: "Any situation like this, I always look for a win-win scenario. That said, it's important that whatever happens is in the best interest of this conference."

Yormark was asked about Texas and Oklahoma’s status for the next 3 years and he had the Big 12’s best interest in mind:
“Any situation like this, I always look for a win-win scenario. That said, it’s important that whatever happens is in the best interest of this conference,” Yormark said.
While Yormark did not say he would allow the 2 schools to leave early, he was open to any outcome that would help the Big 12 Conference’s future. This news comes as a result of widespread realignments taking place throughout college sports and Yormark understands the impact it will have on his conference.

“The folks from Texas, both the president and AD, plus the folks from Oklahoma, have been very gracious to me,” Yormark said.
Yormark assumed his role as the commissioner in an uncertain time for the conference and he will look to make any improvements for the conference to remain competitive.
