Florida quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson is leaving for an NFL job with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Johnson has been an up-and-coming assistant during his time coaching under Dan Mullen. He made a name for himself in the coaching ranks when he helped develop former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott. Along with others, he also adds Kyle Trask, who signed at Florida as a no-name quarterback, to his impressive resume.

Johnson has been rumored to be a head coaching candidate in recent years, and he recently interviewed for the Boise State head coaching job, too. However, with Dan Mullen calling plays at Florida, Johnson was more of a college quarterbacks coach, and now, he’s becoming a quarterbacks coach in the NFL.

Eventually, Johnson will become a head coach somewhere, either in college or the NFL.
