Brian Kelly and LSU have had Greg Brooks on their minds lately as the LSU defensive back is battling brain cancer.

Brooks has been transferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis for ongoing treatments for his cancer, Kelly said Monday afternoon. Kelly shared that news on The Paul Finebaum Show.

Kelly also stated that another surgery is scheduled for Brooks. The LSU head coach was grateful for the support the team has received recently.

“We’re just so grateful for the support that everybody throughout this entire country and the football community in college football has embraced this,” Kelly said. “Obviously, thoughts and prayers every day for Greg. He’s a strong man and we’re hoping that this next surgery allows him to begin the next challenge of battling cancer.”

Brooks started his college career at Arkansas and transferred to LSU after the 2021 season. He played in two games this season before his cancer diagnosis.

LSU has a way to support Brooks through the Greg Brooks Jr. Victory Fund. Brooks had emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor in September.
