LSU checked in at No. 10 in the first installment of the College Football Playoff rankings for this season. If LSU pulls off an upset against No. 6 Alabama this Saturday, the committee will have a key asset for evaluation.

LSU coach Brian Kelly is raving about his team’s preparation heading into the critical clash.

The LSU players are motivated to add to their legacy by doing something few before them have done as of late.

“The preparation has been really good. At the end of practice yesterday they were like, “We’ve got to get playing here. They’re excited about playing Alabama,” Kelly said. “They know this has been a one-sided series, one win in the last 10 years. But they’re excited about playing.”

Tiger Stadium could be a raucous environment if LSU does their part on the field, Kelly notes.

“I told them, that stadium is going to be electric, but it’s only going to be electric if we play well,” Kelly said. “You quieted the crowd at Auburn and Florida. You’ve got to go play well.”

The winner of this game could help determine the West representative for the SEC title game. Alabama, LSU, and No. 11 Ole Miss all have 4-1 conference records.

Alabama-LSU is slated to kick off at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday and will be televised on ESPN. LSU has lost its last 2 contests vs. Alabama. Alabama leads the all-time series 55-26-5.
